Our Community Hospital —
Aspen Valley Hospital

Aspen Valley Medical Foundation is the official conduit for charitable giving for Aspen Valley Hospital (AVH), raising and granting funds for capital and operating support.

AVMF Presidents Club memberships directly support AVH needs.

AVMF grants to Aspen Valley Hospital include:

2008

Quality Health Network

Up to $500,000 plus $120,000/year for three years

• QHN links health care providers and allows the exchange of patient medical data from various sources. QHN transforms health care and patient outcomes by improving access to health care information.

Radiographic & Computer Radiology Equipment

$57,524

• Radiographic and computer radiology equipment will be used at the new Aspen-Basalt Healthcare Center’s After Hours Care services run by AVH. The combined system is a high tech, cost efficient way to take an analog x-ray image and digitize it, so it can be read by a radiologist at AVH, or elsewhere.

2007

MRI, Siemens Espree 1.5T Open Bore Magnetic Resonance Imager

$825,000

• The newest generation of MRI imaging produces a high speed image with a special resolution never seen before. The new MRI reduces scan time from 40-60 minutes to 10-12 minutes, in an open machine that reduces patient issues with claustrophobia.

Patient Advocate Position

approximately $20,000/year for three years

• The Patient Advocate facilitates the best medical and supportive services for AVH patients, families, and friends. The position works with physicians and staff as a patient liaison and advocate, and anticipates patient and family needs, providing extraordinary, proactive assistance throughout the AVH experience.
